To this day we inherit falsehood and futility from our fore-fathers

A solid foundation is extremely important. Our beliefs must have a firm base. Yahshua confirms this in Luke 6:

Luk 6:47 "Everyone who is coming to Me, and is hearing My words and is doing them, I shall show you whom he is like48 "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock. And when a flood came, the stream burst against that house, but was unable to shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 49 "But the one hearing and not doing, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream burst, and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great."

Yahshua’s message here is clear; a strong foundation (the hearing of his words and doing them) is the difference between life and death. What words did Yahshua give to them & us?

Joh 8:26 "I have much to say and to judge concerning you. But He who sent Me is true, and what I heard from Him, these Words I speak to the world.27 They did not know that He spoke to them of the Father. 28 So Yahshua said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Aḏam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak29 "And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him."

Before continuing on, I will clarify why we use the name Yahshua instead of Jesus. In Strongs concordance we have this...

Strongs G2424

Ἰησοῦς

Iēsous

ee-ay-sooce'

Of Hebrew origin [H3091]; Jesus (that is, Jehoshua), the name of our L-rd and two (three) other Israelites: - Jesus.

We see that the Greek version is very loosely based on the Hebrew name Joshua. Out of respect, we use his Hebrew name instead of the Greek transliteration of his name.

Strongs H3091

יהושׁע יהושׁוּע

       yehôshûayehôshûa

yeh-ho-shoo'-ah, yeh-ho-shoo'-ah From H3068 and H3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (that is, Joshua), the Jewish leader: -       Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Compare H1954, H3442.

I will now return to my original focus... In John 8 we saw Yahshua clarifying where his words come from. He states that the words he speaks, he was taught by the Father.

What message did Yahshua proclaim from the Father?

Mat 19:16 And see, one came and said to Him, "righteous Teacher, what good shall I do to have everlasting life?17 And He said to him, "Why do you call Me righteous? No one is good except One – Elohim. But if you wish to enter into life, guard the commands." 18 He said to Him, "Which?" And Yahshua said, " ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19Respect your father and your mother,’ and ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ "

Mar 12:28 And one of the scribes coming near, hearing them reasoning together, knowing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first command of all?" 29 And Yahshua answered him, "The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one30 ‘And you shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first command. 31 "And the second, like it, is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other command greater than these." 32 And the scribe said to Him, "Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one Elohim, and there is no other besides Him. 33 "And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the being, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbour as oneself, is more than all the burnt offerings and offerings." 34 And when Yahshua saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the reign of Elohim." And after that no one was bold enough to question Him.

I want to detract once again so that I can explain why we use YHWH or (Yah-weh) instead of G-d when referring to the Almighty.

The title G-d was used by the writers of the KJV to refer to the Eternal one. This title is of unknown origin (no origin can be proven). The Hebrew people called the Almighty by His name until a time when some decided that they should no longer use His name for fear it would be blasphemed. Thus the Eternals name became hidden from the majority of the world. Why then do we use Yah or Yah-weh? In Psalm 68:4 we see the following: "

Psa 68:4 Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts, By His Name Yah, And exult before Him.

Yah is a contraction of the name of the Eternal. Most people don't realize that they are saying the Almightys name when they say or sing Hallel-U-Yah. These Hebrew words mean Praise Yah! Hallel = Praise in Hebrew. HalleluYah is even used in the book of Revelations…

Rev 19:1  And after this I heard a loud voice of a great crowd in the heaven, saying, Halleluyah! Deliverance and esteem and respect and power to YHWH our Elohim! 2 “Because true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great whore who corrupted the earth with her whoring. And He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 And a second time they said, “Halleluyah! And her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped Elohim who sat on the throne, saying, “Amĕn! Halleluyah! 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our Elohim, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” 6 And I heard as the voice of a great crowd, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunders, saying, “Halleluyah, for YHWH Ěl Shaddai reigns!

We much prefer to use His honored name rather than a title of unknown origin.

Returning to our previous topic....

Yahshua taught the people that the commandments were to be kept, and that if a person kept them they would receive their reward from the Father.

(Note: in matt 19:17-19 the Sabbath command is not specifically mentioned. If any person believes that the Yahshua did not mention the Sabbath command for a reason, they are making an assumption based on their personal bias. Yahshua spoke to people who were already keeping the Sabbath, there would be no reason for him to assert that the Sabbath command was being overlooked, as the other commands he specifically mentioned were).

What impact do these words of Yahshua have on the truth seeker today? We see that Yahshua states that his and our Father is greater than himself, and that the Father alone is worthy of our esteem (matt 19:17). We see that the commandments are still to be kept and that they lead to life (matt 19:17-19 & matt 12:29-31), which directly contrasts with the doctrines of the churches and assemblies today, which teach that the law has been done away (something Yahshua never taught).

Joh 12:44 Then Yahshua cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45 "And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 "I have come as a light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness. 47 "And if anyone hears My Words but does not watch over them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has one who judges him: the Word that I have spoken shall judge him in the last day49 "Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak50 "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak."

We are followers of Yahshua. We follow his example, and try to walk in his footsteps. If any words or teachings appear to contradict the message Yahshua proclaimed, we know that they are either twisted, mistranslated, or have been added to validate personal doctrines. Yahshua came to uphold his Fathers commands, not to do away with them.

Mat 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete18 "For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done19 "Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of Yahshua Messiah.

Rev 14:12 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of Yahshua.

Who will inherit the Kingdom? Those who are doing the will of the Almighty!

Shalom!

To this day we inherit falsehood and futility from our fore-fathers. Being taught the same message that has been passed on through the generations and is propagated by spiritual leaders to this day.

As the Scripture says.....

Jer 16:19 O יהוה, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility, and there is no value in them.”
