The two trees

Each day we feed the two trees of our lives. The one tree grows from the world, and the other from the Heavens. Let us look first at the tree, which has its roots in the soil of the Earth.

From a distance this tree looks beautiful. However when we get up close we see the tree for what it is.

We feed our personal tree by our worldly thoughts and actions.

Mark 7 partial
20And  He  said,  “What  comes  out  of  a man, that defiles a man. 21“For  from  within,  out  of  the  heart  of men,  proceed  evil  reasonings,  adulteries, whorings, murders, 22thefts,   greedy   desires,   wickednesses, deceit, indecency, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23“All  these  wicked  matters  come  from within and defile a man.”

Galations 5 partial
19And  the  works  of  the  flesh  are  well- known, which are these: adultery, whoring, uncleanness, indecency, 20idolatry, drug sorcery, hatred, quarrels, jealousies,  fits  of  rage,  selfish  ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, wild parties, and the like – of which I forewarn you, even as I also said before, that those who practise such as these shall not inherit the reign of Elohim.

Romans 1 partial
28And even as they did not think it worthwhile to possess the knowledge of Elohim, Elohim   gave   them   over   to   a   worthless mind, to do what is improper, 29having been filled with all unrighteousness,   whoring,   wickedness,   greed,   evil; filled  with  envy,  murder,  fighting,  deceit, evil habits; whisperers, 30slanderers,  haters  of  Elohim,  insolent, proud,  boasters,  devisers  of  evils,  disobedient to parents, 31without  discernment,  covenant  breakers, unloving, unforgiving, ruthless;

This is the tree common to today’s world, a tree of selfishness, and wickedness. Grounded in the Earth, fed and nurtured by the ruler of the world; the adversary. Its fruit is poison, filling the eater with cankerous, addicting, cancer, which spreads throughout our minds and bodies.

The more we feed our earthly tree, the less we feed our spiritual tree.

Let’s take a look at our spiritual tree.

2Peter 1 partial
2Favour  and  peace  be  increased  to  you in the knowledge of Elohim and of Yah’shua our Master, 3as His Mighty-like power has given to us   all we need for life and reverence, through the knowledge of Him who called us to esteem and uprightness. 4Through  these  there  have  been  given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these you might be   partakers   of   the   Mighty-like   nature, having escaped from the corruption in the world, caused by lust. 5And for this reason do your utmost to add to your belief uprightness, to uprightness knowledge, 6to knowledge self-control, to self- control endurance, to endurance reverence, 7to reverence brotherly affection, and to brotherly affection love. 8For if these are in you and  increase, they cause you to be neither  inactive  nor without fruit in the knowledge of our Master Yah’shua Messiah. 9For he in whom these are not present is blind,  being  shortsighted,  and  has  forgotten that he has been cleansed from his old sins. 10For  this  reason,  brothers,  all  the  more do your utmost to make firm your calling and choosing, for if you are doing these matters you shall never stumble at all, 11for  in  this  way  an  entrance  into  the everlasting reign of our Master and SaviourYah’shua Messiah shall be   richly supplied to you.

Galatians 5 partial
22But  the  fruit  of  the  Spirit  is  love,  joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness, 23gentleness,  self-control.  Against  such there is no Torah. 24And  those  who  are  of  Messiah  have impaled the flesh with its passions and the desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let  us  not  become  conceited,  provoking one another, envying one another.

Ephesians 3 partial
14For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Master Yah’shua Messiah, 15from   whom   all   fatherhood   in   the heavens and earth is named, 16in   order   that   He   might   give   you, according  to  the  riches  of  His  esteem  by power, to be strengthened in the inner man, through His Spirit, 17that  the  Messiah  might  dwell  in  your hearts  through  belief  –  having  become rooted and grounded in love, 18in order that you might be strengthened to firmly grasp, with all the set-apart ones, what is the width and length and depth and height, 19to know the love of Messiah which surpasses knowledge, in order that you might be filled to all the completeness of Elohim.

Our spiritual tree is rooted in Love, which was brought about by the seed of belief. Belief is where our journey to the truth began. Without belief, which is also faith, we have no spiritual tree to nourish. We would have only our worldly tree to feed.

Our next step in the progression was the recognition of our fleshly sins, and the gradual putting out of the things of this world. Which is a constant task, as the wickedness of the world continues to invade our daily lives. Our concience is our guide, If it feels wrong, then it is wrong.

Reading Scripture, and other historical, and pertinent information, should be an ongoing routine for us, and is responsible in a large part to our continued success, as it feeds our spiritual tree on a daily basis. As all of the primary branches feed the fruit, knowledge has as much importance as the other attributes.

Self-control is not an easy thing to manage for a lot of people. Keeping yourself from anger, frustration, and fear is a challenge, which takes constant vigilance on our parts. We must constantly remind ourselves of the need to be humble and meek, and avoid the trappings of the world. Pride and vanity are two of our worst spiritual enemies. Unfortunately many people succumb to them.

Patience and endurance are major keys to keeping our spiritual tree alive. The many trials, and tribulations of life wear on us daily. We must be strong and endure the constant bombardment by the adversary and his minions. If we give up, even for a short time, much damage can occur.

Reverance and respect for YHWH is crucial. We must show our Creator how we feel about Him in prayer, actions, thoughts, and deeds. The Eternal is so deserving of our praise and we should ensure that we praise and worship him daily. No matter what is happening in our lives, we should not forget to thank and praise our wonferful Abba. Hallelu Yah!

Many people have these main branches which feed the fruit of the spiritual tree. Unfortunately the trunk and the roots seem to be more difficult to grow. Unlike our Earthly tree, the roots of our spiritual tree are in the gift of the spirit sent from heaven.

Brotherly love is so neccesary for us to grow a luscious and delectable fruit on our spiritual tree. Without it our fruit would be small and tasteless. We should sincerely care about our fellow believers, and help them in times of need. Support them in their times of weakness. Constantly show our love and respect for them, for this helps to bolster their belief. Brotherly love is the trunk of our tree, sturdy and strong, supporting the weight of the tree and all that is in it. We must constantly maintain this solid foundation, and keep a steady vigil against the pests and other destructive elements sent to destroy us.

Love is our foundation; the roots of our tree supply all of the neccesary nutrients for a strong, healthy tree that produces delectable fruit. Our roots soak up the spirit provided by YHWH and turn this precious gift into a sight and taste-pleasing tree that attracts others to its fruit. Without love in large quantities, our access to the spirit is limited. The less love we have, the less spirit we are able to absorb to nourish our tree. We should sincerely love our Wonderful Creator YHWH and all his children as he commands. If we do not have this love, our tree may grow, but it will be starved and it may not bear fruit, or its fruit will not be tasteful.

We have the choice each day to nourish our worldly tree or our spiritual tree.

Imagine a world without Love. Where man does the pleasure of his heart. No remorse, no empathy, no kindness or compassion. Chaos and confusion would probably reign. What would be the incentive for helping your neighbor?
Furthering your own inclinations, you would probably use the people around you to achieve your goals, and or get what you wanted. It would be a dog eat dog world.

Genesis 6 partial
5And  YHWH  saw  that  the  wickedness  of man was great in the earth and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And YHWH  was sorry that He had made man  on  the  earth,  and  He  was  grieved  in His heart. 7And YHWH said, “I am going to wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the  earth,  both  man  and  beast,  creeping creature and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

How evil mankind must have been for The Creator to wipe the majority of the people from the face of the Earth. Take a look around at our world today, what do you see? Wickedness abounds these days, our culture may be fast aproaching the same level of wickedness as the inhabitants of the Earth during the flood, or the inhabitants of Sodom and Gemorah.

2 Timothy 3 partial
But  know  this,  that  in  the  last  days hard times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of  money,  boasters,  proud,  blasphemers, disobedient  to  parents,  thankless,  wrongdoers, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, haters of good, 4betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim, 5having a form of reverence but denying its power. And turn away from these! 6For  among  them  are  those  who  creep into households and captivate silly women loaded   down   with   sins,   led   away   by various lusts, 7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

This sounds a lot like our world today. The world has digressed back to a point it was at thousands of years ago. What a sad testimony this is.

May our spiritual fruit, Love, Joy, Shalom, Faith, Meekness, Long-suffering, Gentleness, and Goodness be for a blessing.

Shalom & Agape in YHWH’s precious name
