The Parable of the Prodigal son

What does it mean for us today?

Luke 15
11And He said, “A certain man had two sons, 12and the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods falling to me.’ And he divided his livelihood between them. 13“And not many days after, the younger son, having gathered all together, went away to a distant country, and there wasted his goods with loose living.

14“And when he had spent all, there arose a severe scarcity of food throughout that land, and he began to be in need. 15“And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16“And he was longing to fill his stomach with the pods which the pigs were eating, and no one gave to him.

17“But having come to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger! 18‘Having risen, I shall go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, 19and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’

20“And having risen, he went to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21“And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23‘And bring the fattened calf here and slaughter it, and let us eat and rejoice, 24because this son of mine was dead and is alive again, and he was lost and is found.’ And they began to rejoice.

25“And his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26“And having called one of the servants he asked what this meant. 27“And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he received him back in health.’ 28“And he was wroth and would not go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him. 29“And answering, he said to his father, ‘See, these many years I have been serving you, and I have never transgressed a command of yours, but to me you have never given a young goat, so I could rejoice with my friends. 30‘But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with whores, you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.’

31“Then he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours. 32‘And we had to rejoice and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive, and was lost and is found.’ ”

Looking at this parable from our perspective today we see the Northern kingdom of Ysra’el and the Southern Kingdom were blessed by the Father with much. They each received an abundance of land, food, animals, prosperity, power, all manner of good gifts. The Northern Kingdom decided to follow the ways of the people around them, and follow their gods, forsaking the One True El. For this they were given their hearts desire and were loosed to the world to live out the lusts of their flesh.

Not long after this they regretted their decision, too late to turn back to the Father and repent of their foolishness they were spread to the four winds as slaves and became bound to the people and gods they had lusted after. The teachings of Father became lost to them; they starved for the Word of the Father, they satisfied their starving souls on the words of wickedness and deceit wrought by the adversary.

Today

In time the people of the Northern Kingdom will fully realize the disgusting position they have gotten themselves into by straying from the Father and His ways of righteousness and love. They will return to the Father in repentance, knowing their ways have brought them nothing but misery.

The Father will accept them back to Him with open arms and a loving embrace. Forgiving us of our foolish ways.

Our brothers of the Southern Kingdom who have kept the Word and commands of the Father will feel slighted because they have kept to the Father and rarely strayed. Thinking that they deserve more of the Fathers love and kindness their hearts will be hardened.

The Father will announce to our brothers that He loves all of us equally, regardless of our past iniquity. And that it is a wonderful thing that His sons who were lost, have found their way back to Him.

We are all His children, The Father loves those who have turned from sin as much as those who have kept His right-ruling faithfully. His love is great enough for all of us.

Let us repent of our sins turning our hearts and minds back to the Father of all creation. He is waiting for us with great expectation.

The return of Messiah Yahshua and the reuniting of the brothers

Isa’Yah 11:9-16, 12:1-6
9They do no evil nor destroy in all My set-apart mountain, for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of YHWH as the waters cover the sea.

10And in that day there shall be a Root of Yishai, standing as a banner to the people. Unto Him the gentiles shall seek, and His rest shall be esteem.

11And it shall be in that day that YHWH sets His hand again a second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Ashshur and from Mitsrayim, from Pathros and from Kush, from Eylam and from Shin'ar, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. 12And He shall raise a banner for the nations, and gather the outcasts of Yisra’el, and assemble the dispersed of Yehudah from the four corners of the earth.

13And the envy of Ephrayim shall turn aside, and the adversaries of Yehudah be cut off. Ephrayim shall not envy Yehudah, and Yehudah not trouble Ephrayim.

14But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; together they plunder the people of the east, their hand stretching forth on Edom and Mo’ab, and the children of Ammon shall be subject to them. 15And YHWH shall put under the ban the tongue of the Sea of Mitsrayim, and He shall wave His hand over the River with the might of His Spirit, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and shall cause men to tread it in sandals.

16And there shall be a highway for the remnant of His people, those left from Ashshur, as it was for Yisra’el in the day when he came up from the land of Mitsrayim.

And in that day you shall say, “I thank You YHWH, though You were enraged with me, Your displeasure has turned back, and You have comforted me. 2“See, El is my deliverance, I trust and am not afraid. For Yah, YHWH, is my strength and my song; and He has become my deliverance.”

3And you shall draw water with joy from the fountains of deliverance. 4And in that day you shall say, “Praise YHWH, call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His Name is exalted. 5“Sing to YHWH, For He has done excellently; this is known in all the earth.

6“Cry aloud and shout, O inhabitant of Tsiyon, for great is the Set-apart One of Yisra’el in your midst!

This is the Messiah the Southern Kingdom awaits, the Messiah who is sent by the Father of all creation. The prophesied Messiah who was born of the line of Jesse, who will restore the two Kingdoms of Yisra’el and bring shalom to the Earth. No longer will the two Kingdoms be divided, we will come together in love and happiness praising and worshiping our awesome Father!

Shalom & Agape in YHWH's precious name
